Students' Checklist 

Enrolment procedure for candidates entering as individuals (For candidates entering through language schools, please go to 'Before the Exams' section)

Complete the Individual Entry Form.

Download the form and enter your details in the appropriate spaces

Names - Please write your name clearly in block capitals.

Address - Where we can send your receipt and timetable and also contact you if necessary before the examination. (Add your email address, where possible)



Before your exam

Your timetable will be sent to you approximately 10 days before the examination, detailing the exact dates, times and places where your exams will take place. On exam days

Please bring photo identification (eg. passport) to each examination.

Please bring your timetable to each examination.



Stationery

Remember to bring a pencil, pen, eraser and sharpener. You can use correction fluid/tape for some parts of the examination but not on the orange computer answer sheets.



Mobile phones

These must be switched off and may not be kept on desks.

Paper, notes, books, calculators or any other items are not permitted to be kept on desks and together with all bags and coats must be left in the area designated by the Supervisor.



Extra time

At the end of the listening paper only, you will receive a stated period of extra time to transfer your answers from your question booklet to your computer answer sheet.

No extra time is allowed to candidates for Reading, Writing and Use of English papers. You must complete your answers within the time limit. Supervisors will give warnings prior to the end of the examination informing you of the time remaining. Failure to stop writing after the supervisor has signalled the end of the exam can result in students being disqualified.



Draft work

If you wish to make a draft copy of your written work, remember you must finish within the time allocated as there are no provisions for extra time.



Corrections

These may be made with correction fluid/tape in the writing paper only. You may alter work neatly by crossing out any mistakes without losing marks.



Extra paper

You may use spare paper for rough work in the Writing examination Available in the exam hall, this will be collected and disposed of by the supervisors. You must write your answers in the booklet provided as spare paper for rough work will not be sent back to Cambridge for marking. There are also several spare pages at the back of the answer booklet for any rough work or draft copies.



Cheating/malpractice

Candidates are not allowed to communicate in any way with one another once inside the examination room.



After exams

Results

All students sitting a Cambridge Examination receive a Statement of Results showing their achievement in the different components of the exam.

Results for Main Suite examinations are posted approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the exams to the address given by candidates attending the examination halls.



Certificates

Only candidates who receive a pass grade receive a certificate.

Certificates are posted approximately 3 months after the exams (ie. 4 to 6 weeks after the results) by Recorded Delivery.



Lost results

Please contact our office if you have not received your Statement of Results so that we can send you a replacement.



Lost certificates

If you have passed your examination but have not received your certificate, please contact our Examinations office on 020 8952 8040 or by e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

NB. If you have lost or mislaid your certificate and need to replace it, the Cambridge Examinations Board will charge for a replacement.
